In this Scene, Othello appointed Cassio to be the night watch. After a while, Othello came to find Cassio and to advised him to drink a few glasses of wine. Though Cassio said he could not drink more than a cup, he still drunk too much and got drunk under the press of Iago's enthusiasm. Cassio's drunk look was seen by Montano, and he decides to talk about that with Othello because he thinks a drunk is not worth be the lieutenant. Iago hypocritical says he is not going to participate in that because Cassio is his royal friend. At this instance, they see Cassio is chasing Roderigo and saying something nonsense. Montano persuaded Cassio to top, but he was hurt by him. At this time Othello appeared, when he knows what happened, he fired Cassio and promoted Iago.
Cassio is very regretting about he lost his reputation, Iago comes up and suggests him to ask help from Desdemona because Othello is crazy loving her. This advice makes Cassio very grateful. In the end, Cassio privately tells Roderigo that the plan is about to be accomplished and asked him to be patient.
